The Early Career Researcher Grants are available to support eligible applicants attending the 21st ICID Congress. These grants aim to reduce financial barriers and encourage participation from early-career professionals.

Important Eligibility Notes

  • This support opportunity is a part of the abstract submission process.
  • You cannot apply for this Grant without submitting an abstract.
  • All required information and supporting documents must be provided during the abstract submission process.

Application Requirements

Before applying for the Early Career Researcher Grant, please ensure you fulfil the requirements and attach all required documents during the abstract submission:

  • Please clarify in max 300 words why you would like to attend the 21st ICID Congress.
  • Proof of age 40 years and below by the submission date. Please attach a document that proves your birth date and country of origin (ie, passport/ID card, birth certificate, driving license, etc.).  The document must include English or be translated into English.
  • An undergraduate or postgraduate (Masters/PhD) student or a scientist who has received their highest degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) within the past five years. Please attach a letter of recommendation signed by your department head or a supervisor with an indication of their affiliation and role. The letter must be written in English.
  • Confirm you have not received ISID-funded support to attend the past two (2) ICID Congresses (Kuala Lumpur in 2022/Cape Town in 2024).

The Grant Consists Of:

  • Free registration
  • Hotel accommodation booked and paid through the Congress organizers (4 nights in a single room at a specified hotel).
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses up to a predetermined amount based on the country of origin of the grant recipient.
*Please note that reimbursement will be made after the Congress. Further details regarding the travel expenses reimbursement will be provided via the notification.
**Please note that in general, only transportation expenses and, in some cases, expenses related to visa application, such as visa application fee, are eligible for reimbursement. Expenses related to travel insurance, food & beverages, and additional congress functions (such as workshops and networking events) will not be reimbursed.
