Dr. Sally Roberts is a graduate of the University of Auckland, School of Medicine. She is a clinical microbiologist and infectious diseases physician at Auckland City Hospital and is the Clinical Head of Microbiology at LabPlus, Auckland District Health Board. Since August 2011, she has been the National Clinical Lead for the New Zealand Health Quality & Safety Commission Infection Prevention and Control Program. She has been on a number of New Zealand’s Ministry of Health working groups. Her main interests include the diagnosis of infectious diseases; prevention of healthcare-associated infections; and antimicrobial resistance.
Dr. Roberts is the chair of the Finance Committee and serves on the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Dr Paul Ananth Tambyah is currently Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore and Senior Consultant Infectious Diseases Physician at the National University Health System, Singapore. He is also past President of the International Society for Infectious Diseases, immediate past President of the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection and also a visiting consultant to the National Center for Infectious Diseases and the Singapore Armed Forces. He was the founding head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the National University of Singapore and currently is deputy director of the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program at the University. His main research interests are in device associated infections and clinical trials in emerging infectious diseases in particular respiratory viruses.

Neelika Malavige is a Professor in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an Academic Visitor at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford. She is also the President-Elect of the International Society for Infectious Diseases. Her research focuses on the immunopathogenesis of dengue, including the identification of biomarkers and immune correlates of protection, with a strong emphasis on translating these insights into clinical trials. She previously led the global dengue programme at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) for two years and continues to contribute her expertise through numerous national and international scientific advisory boards, funding panels, and editorial boards, where she serves as a member or chair.
Beyond her research and leadership roles, Neelika is deeply committed to mentoring and public engagement. She has received multiple local and international accolades in recognition of her contributions, including the Outstanding Role Model Award and the Most Inspiring Woman Award.

Dr. Afreenish Amir, medical microbiologist, expertise spans AMR surveillance (GLASS, PASS), laboratory systems, antimicrobial stewardship, bacterial/fungal surveillance genomics, waste water environmental surveillance, Pakistan’s cholera control strategy. She excels in building partnerships, planning and implementing programs. She worked ~8 years with NIH Pakistan in roles including Project Director AMR (US CDC project). She has served as Chair of Emerging Leader in Infectious Diseases Program at ISID USA, Federal Region Chapter Head for Pakistan Biological Safety Association, and serving as Board Director of Mehnaz Fatima Foundation Gilgit, Pakistan. She is Harvard Kennedy School alumna on GHS, GIBACHT fellow on biosafety/biosecurity, Consultant with American Society of Microbiology USA and The South Center Geneva, adjunct faculty Rawalpindi Medical University and Health Services Academy Pakistan.
She is member of WHO Advisory Group on BPPL, WHO Global Research Agenda for AMR Human Health, TAG Fleming Fund UK. Dr. Kerushini Govender is a veterinarian with a Master degree in Veterinary Tropical Diseases. She is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the field of Veterinary Public Health. She manages the Animal Operational Readiness team within the Ministry for Primary Industries, assisting and supporting industries prepare for exotic animal disease incursions like Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) and Foot and Mouth Disease. She has 18 years of experience working within the public sector in South Africa and New Zealand at various levels. She has been involved in community level engagements on Rabies, Tuberculosis and Leptospirosis to high level strategic discussions with senior leaders in industry and government about HPAI. She is passionate about translating strategic decisions into operational solutions that can be practically implemented and help decrease the impact of zoonotic diseases in communities and on a national scale.

Dr. Botond Lakatos is a specialist of infectious diseases and tropical medicine. He has co-founded the Trainees Association of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), promoted for scientific exchange program by European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) in Spain and for clinical research grant supported jointly by International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and Swiss Society for Infectious Diseases (SSI) in Switzerland. Obtained the Gorgas Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene by University of Alabama at Birmingham in Peru, absolved the Course of Tropical Medicine by Nagasaka University in the Philippines and gained experiences in the field of global health in several African countries. Completed his PhD and habilitation at Semmelweis University, Hungary, currently he is the head of Division of HIV and Tropical Medicine at National Institute of Hematology and Infectious Diseases and Associate Professor at Semmelweis University, Budapest, leader of the Semmelweis Working Group of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, counselor of the ISID and re-elected president of the Hungarian Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology.

David is Director of Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre, a Conjoint Professor at the University of Sydney, Adjunct Professor at Curtin University and an Honorary Professor the University of Cape Town. David’s research interests include antimicrobial resistance, STI prevention and genital ulcer disease. He was a recent Council member of the International Society for Infectious Diseases and a Past President of IUSTI-World. David has contributed to many WHO initiatives such as guideline development, point-of-care testing and, until late 2024, served as a member of WHO’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for HIV, Hepatitis and STIs.

With a career spanning the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, and service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, Linda brings deep expertise in public health systems, surveillance, and response. She is widely recognized for her visionary leadership in advancing data-driven, cross-sector strategies that empower global networks to prevent and respond to emerging health threats and build a more resilient, equitable world.

Prof. Aisha Abubakar (nee Ahmed Umar) [MBBS, MPH Field Epidemiology, FWACP] is a seasoned epidemiologist and Public Health Physician. She is a Professor/Consultant with the Ahmadu Bello University and the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria, Northwestern Nigeria. Prof. Aisha Abubakar has a Master’s degree in Public Health in Field Epidemiology from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a Postgraduate certificate in Health Research from the University of Lancaster, UK. She is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Community Health of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP). She is also a ProMED Anglophone Africa moderator for the International Society of Infectious Diseases since January 2020. She is also a Deputy Editor of the International Journal of Infectious Diseases. She is an alumnus of the Women leaders for the World 2017. Elkin Bermudez, MD, completed a MSc in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases and a PhD in Infectious Diseases at Fiocruz and UNIFESP, Brazil, respectively; his research project focused on resistance to HIV antiretroviral treatment. He has been working internationally in the global health field for more than 15 years in organizations such as MSF, FIND and DNDi in the areas of Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases, Monitoring & Evaluation and Operational Research, supporting field teams in countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and from headquarters in Europe. Previously, he worked in clinical research and participated in projects related to the treatment of neglected diseases in South America. Currently as Scientific Manager with ISID, Elkin collaborates with the team in the advance of the management of the scientific program development, and serves as an ISID Subject Matter Expert as well as with a collaboration with the AMR portfolio.
