Rohaidah Hashim

Dr. Rohaidah Hashim currently heads the Bacteriology Unit, Institute for Medical Research in Kuala Lumpur. She is the resource person for bacteria identification, verification of resistant phenotype for sensitivity testing of bacteria, Carbapenemases Resistanct Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) verification as well as resistant testing for other bacteria as IMR serves as a reference centre, and acts as co-ordinating centre for National Surveillance of Antibiotic Resistance. Currently, she also supervises the Laboratory for Community and Hospital Acquired Infection, Bordetella pertussis, and Molecular Typing Laboratory. Dr. Hashim is also active involve in laboratory accreditation and is currently appointed as Lead Auditor for IMR and technical auditor for Department Standard Malaysia. She does active research in the Microbiology field.
