We are delighted to announce that the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) will hold its next International Congress on Infectious Diseases in Kuala Lumpur from 17-20 November 2022, in collaboration with the Malaysian Society for Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy (MSIDC). The two societies will be collaborating to offer an outstanding program of regional and international expertise, focusing on the burden of infection in low- and middle-income countries with a global perspective.

Types of Sessions
Plenary Lectures
Invited lectures given by the most renowned and experienced experts in their fields. The plenary speakers address fundamental challenges in infectious diseases and give deep insights into a certain field of research, policy or clinical infectious diseases, highlight open questions and discuss strategies that need to be addressed in the future.
Scientific Sessions
Explore the most pressing challenges in prevention, management, and investigation of infectious diseases relevant to the region and beyond. From lectures to round-table discussions to master classes – session formats will ensure that up-to-date content is delivered in a way that encourages discussion and audience participation.
Poster Presentations
Reserved for abstract submitters presenting novel findings, methods or study techniques relevant to move the field of infectious diseases forward. Poster presentations are organized based on topics and presenting authors are expected to present and discuss their work. Poster abstracts will be published on ISID’s webpage and as a special supplement to the International Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID).
Meet-the-Expert Sessions
Explore small, interactive sessions that give participants the opportunity to discuss relevant topics with leading experts in a more personal setting. Topics range from innovative teaching or research tools to interactive sessions on how to publish one’s work to discussing advances in the field and state-of-the-art management of infectious diseases.
Debates
Presentations of two-sides to controversies in the infectious diseases field.
Oral Abstract Presentations
Reserved for the best submitted abstracts in different categories. Around 3% of submitted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Each oral abstract session is assigned a chairperson who announces the presenters, keeps track of the time and moderates a brief discussion after each presentation.
Policy Sessions
A discussion-based session featuring subject matter experts discussing contemporary hot topics. These discussions are a great way of engaging members in the public debate making them more familiar with current topic frameworks; being a forum to advance its understanding from a critical perspective: lessons learnt, milestones reached, and current challenges.
Pre-Congress Workshops
Offer in-depth, small group learning about select, high priority infectious diseases topics.
