Paul Ananth Tambyah

Paul Ananth Tambyah is currently President-elect of the International Society of Infectious Diseases and President of the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection. After completing medical school at the National University of Singapore and military service in the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Corps, he went on to postgraduate training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Wisconsin under Dr Dennis Maki. Since returning to Singapore more than 20 years ago, he has been involved in a number of national and international committees and is currently Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Senior Consultant Infectious Diseases Physician at the National University Health System, a Visiting Consultant to the Infectious Diseases Research Coordinating office of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and a visiting Consultant to the Singapore Armed Forces. His main research interests are in device associated infections and emerging infectious diseases
