Mohamed El Kassas

Mohamed El-Kassas is a professor and the chief of Endemic Medicine and Hepato-Gastroenterology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt, director of Research Support Centre, and Chancellor of Scientific Research, Helwan University, and member of Specialized Scientific Council for Medical Research, ASRT, and president of Egyptian Association for Research and Training in HepatoGastroenterology (EARTH). He has finished his medical school at Cairo University and MSc, Ph.D. degrees in HepatoGastroenterology, in addition to an MSc degree in Medical Research from the University of Liverpool in 2015. Professor El-Kassas had clinical and research training internships in Kyoto University, Japan, Pasteur Institute, France, l’hopital Tinon, France, Rotterdam University Hospital, Netherlands, and Health science center, University of Calgary, Canada, besides, to be a visiting professor in Fresno Medical Center, University of California, San Francesco.

Professor El-Kassas has a research interest in viral hepatitis, focusing his work on the management of HCV and HBV, and their relation to hepatic carcinogenesis. More recently, he has participated in several collaborative research works on epidemiology and public health issues related to viral hepatitis, NASH, and HCC. Also, he has involved in several clinical trials in acute and chronic HCV, authoring or co-authoring more than 120 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of hepatology, gastroenterology and infectious diseases.
