Dr. Lee joined Vaccine R&D Center, National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan in Sep 2005 as an Associate Investigator and was promoted to Investigator in 2014. During his tenure in NHRI, Dr. Lee worked on development of enterovirus 71 and pandemic influenza H7N9 vaccines. These two vaccine candidates have been transferred to local vaccine companies which have successfully finished phase II clinical trials and are planning for phase III trials. Prior to joining NHRI, Dr. Lee had worked as an epidemiologist and clinical scientist in MedImmune Vaccines (California, USA) for 6 years on the clinical trials of live-attenuated influenza vaccine (FluMist) and parainfluenza 3 vaccines. FluMist was licensed for marketing in the US in 2003 and has been approved in several countries globally. Dr. Lee’s research interests include epidemiology and vaccine development and has authored over 50 original research articles and technology reports. He is a reviewer for several international journals and has organized several internal and national symposia. He got a MPH from National Taiwan University in 1990 and a PhD from Oxford University in 1999.
