Hamimah Hassan

Hamimah Hassan is a retired clinical microbiologist. A major part of her interest was working initially on anaerobic infections and other hospital acquired pathogens. She led the bacteriology diagnostic laboratory for the University Malaya Medical Center, a 1000 bedded teaching hospital. Hamimah trained specialists in Medical Microbiology and also taught both undergraduate medical and dental programme. The last ten years of her tenure as Professor in Medical Microbiology was greatly spent on developing curriculum, quality assurance and the accreditation of both medical programmes and medical diagnostic laboratories.
