Dr. Gowri Yale is a Veterinarian with a MS in Veterinary Public Health and a PhD in Rabies Epidemiology, Diagnostics and Immune response. She has worked with animal shelters, worked with Veterinary research institutes, involved with small animal practice, and as a successful entrepreneur previously. She started as the Scientific and Technical Manager for Mission Rabies – India from September 2016 and managed rabies surveillance and rabies diagnostics aspects of the Goa Govt – Mission Rabies project in India. She coordinates research activities of Mission Rabies in Goa involving, epidemiology, oral bait studies, gene sequencing and seroconversion in coordination with University of Edinburgh and Govt of Goa. Dr. Gowri Yale also corresponds with the Government of Goa, managing grant arrangements and lobbying for ongoing and expanded partnerships to work towards a phased and sustainable exit strategy for Mission Rabies. She conducts regular training on rabies control and surveillance including sample collection and laboratory diagnosis. She is also involved in subject and methodology consultation to other Govt administrations interested in eliminating rabies.
