Gabriel Yan

Dr. Gabriel Yan graduated from Imperial College, London, in 2012, with an MBBS as well as a BSc in Infection and Immunity, under the guidance of Professor Christoph Tang, undertaking a research project to find a suitable meningococcal B vaccine. He subsequently underwent Internal Medicine residency at the National University Hospital in Singapore, before completing his Infectious Diseases senior residency in 2019. Following that, he pursued further training in Clinical Microbiology and completed his FRCPath in 2021, and has since been traversing across the clinical and laboratory realms. His main research interest is in pathogen diagnostics – in particular, the use of metagenomic sequencing for the detection of pathogens from a myriad clinical samples.
