Ariza Adnan

Dr. Ariza Adnan is a medical doctor who has more than 20 years of experience as a Clinical Microbiologist with a strong background in the laboratory management. Currently, she is a Professor of Medical Microbiology and the Deputy Dean (Industry, Community and Alumni Linkages) at the Faculty of Medicine Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Dr. Adnan is also a Senior Consultant Medical Microbiologist and Head of the Infection Prevention and Control Unit at Hospital UiTM, Malaysia. She had served as the Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs) and Head of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine previously. In addition to her role in academia, Dr. Adnan is actively involved in the professional bodies. At present, she is the Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy, an Advisory Board Member of the Infusion Nurses Society Malaysia and an Advisor of the Infection Control Association of Malaysia. Dr. Adnan sits in various national technical committees which include the Medical Panel and a certified Technical Assessor for Medical Laboratory Accreditation with the Department of Standards Malaysia of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, a panel member of the Medical Microbiology Specialty Committee of the National Specialist Register and the Technical Committee on National Antimicrobial Resistance of the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She is also a Fellow of the College of Pathologists, Academy of Medicine Malaysia. Her interests are in the areas of infection prevention and control, healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance.
